This week sharon came in to tell us about the summer learning journey. I decided I would give it a try so I went on the site and did the first activity.The first activity was to do a NASA colouring book so I choose the rocket blasting into space one.

I found this activity quite fun and I am keen to keep doing it over the holidays.There were two options they were 1 kick start and 2 step it up.I choose the step it up one because that would mean you get more points.Have a look below at what I coloured. Incredible Invention

This week my hub has been inventing helpful things to solve problems in the world.Me and my friend Amelia have been doing a project called the animal sensor. Amelia told me a problem it was: That when ever there family was having a meal there Cat would come and want to have food.So we have started to design a thing tha sensors the Animal then a thing appears automatically giving the animal food.

My super scratch

This thursday Sharon the cyber smart lady came for the last time this year.We had three options.The 1st option was - Create a game or animation to teach a student from a different school about our inquiry.The 2cnd one was - Create a game entertaining a younger or older sibling while your family are busy (Mum Dad).The 3rd option was - Create an animation that tells a story.Perhaps it is based on something have read or make your own up.I chose number 2 I found that the most interesting choice.

I did my game on scratch it was about a fox who was chasing a rabbit. I really enjoyed doing this I found it very fun because I like gaming apps. Supper Cool Slogan

This week my maths class has been doing Transformation and it is coming to an end so we have done a fun activity to finish it up.We have to go on canva and make a slogan about ourselves.Before we created our slogan we got a piece of paper it had some logos on it.With the logos we had to spot the transformation.

This week my class has been doing cultural diversity. Basically we have to gather some information about some cultures that make up Marshland School. I did my slide with my buddy Amelia. The country's we chose were South Africa,China and Columbia.

Amazing Animations

This week for cybersmart the year 6 have been making Te reo animation what we have to do is set a scene then spot things behind the people and write it in maori .

I did mine in a park I had a person standing in the scene and she was the one saying the maori words behind her. I named a tree, flowers, rocks and the sun.

Pros and Cons

This week my class has been learning about moldy food and also what causes moldy food. My teacher assigned a task to everyone it was a pros and cons of organic and GMO. I couldn't think of what to do organic or GMO so I flipped a coin it was organic. So I started doing research on organic food.

Here's a little bit of info on organic food: Organic food is food that is natural it’s not sprayed. Organic food has been freshly pulled out of the ground without being sprayed or poisoned. Have a look at my pros and cons slide down below.

Organic vs GMO

This week for home learning we had to choose between Organic or GMO. I didn't know what to do so I flipped a coin it turned out to be organic food. So I started a slide on organic food,then our teacher told us to do a classroom screen. If you are wondering what a classroom screen is ,it's a page that you can put stuff on.

My Maori Myth

This week we made are own maori legends on how something was discovered by the maori. My myth was how the maori discovered a whale's

The myth is about a girl called Moana and her family her dad is the chief of the island and there running out of fish on the island meanwhile up in the sky the sky father ahi had been sending a strange type of animal to the island.

This week my literacy group has been doing doing structural writing I chose to do it on how to shoot a arrow into the target I did this topic because I have a bow and arrow and I love shooting the target.

Shooting a arrow into a target should be easy after this you just have to follow the instructions step by step. You will see that there is one more step by step instructions on how to shoot a netball. My friend Amelia did that one.

How were your holidays? I hope you're all ready and refreshed for term 3. As you know the Tokyo Olympics have been on,so my teacher thought of making a olympic slide for us to work on. My little group of friends have created a site on Luuka Jones who does canoe slalom.

Me and my friends are half way through our site. If you don't know who Luuka Jones is then I'll give you a quick review-Luuka Jones was born on the 18 of October 1988 she is a New Zealand slalom canoeist she has competed at the international level since 2006. I hope now you have a good understanding of who she is.

This week my writing group has been doing informational reports we are able to choose what we do it on I decided to do Jean Batten.

If you do not know who Jean Batten is she is the one who made record-breaking flights from 1933 to 1937 and was perhaps the most famous New Zealander in the 1930s.

Disastrous Report Writing

This week (and a bit of last week) my reading group has been doing report writing we got to choose out of Tangiwai Rail Disaster, Cave Creek, Rainbow warrior, wahine disaster and the Christchurch earthquake. Out of the 5 choices I chose to do the Christchurch earthquake.

Planner Fun D

For the last couple of weeks my math group has been working on 3D shapes. As a reward are teacher has let us build on planner 5d I have started and finished a house. It has things like 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a pool, a garage, a games room, a work room, a kitchen, a lounge and a outdoor area where you can relax.

Super Shapes

 Hello bloggers,this week my math group has been making nets we had a choice of A,C or E I chose C there were 5 instructions we had to figure out the area of the shapes they were telling us to do the colours were: Green,purple,yellow,blue and orange.

Have a look at the photos below, One of the photos below have the instructions another one has the shape fully constructed and the last one has the net that will build the shape. Once I put the shape together it made a triangular prism.Have a look below

Marvellous Measurement

Hello Bloggers,This week my math groups has been making Marvellous Measurement slides we are doing these as resources for when we need to know something in the future.

The slides involved  permentier,volume,Area,the perimeter of a circle which I have learnt is called a circumference. The slide also includes 1D, 2D & 3D.

 Hello bloggers it is Charlotte here today I am going to teach you a little about Afghanistan. Personally I don't know a lot about it but my buddy does because she is from Afghanistan. We had many other choices around the middle east but we chose Afghanistan.The reason we are doing stuff like this is because we have started an Aladdin production.  Hello Bloggers Charlotte here,In the last two weeks of literacy I have been doing a ANZAC slide. It is on 7 awesome things out of 21 things that my teacher has thought of.

My favourite part of this was making a storyboard of Torty the lucky Tortoise, if you are wondering what a storyboard is it is basically making a comic strip but smaller and better! My least favourite part of it was how much time we had because we did not have that much time.

Wonderful Writing

 Hi Bloggers welcome back! This week has been pretty exciting it is the last week of school! We also got our certificates and our  homegroup bages... Anyway back to the work this week well for a few weeks we have had an option to do whatever free writing we want to! Well more about my writing I chose to make up a world called Atlantis it is a little bit like Narnia but not exactly the same my story is on two siblings who are staying at old man's house and they find a hidden WORLD! 

I am not at all finished if I wanted to finish it it would probably take a loooooooooooong time! so anyway here it is have a look and make sure you read it well.

My class has been starting to  look into how to make a quality email a bit more because we are not sure some people know how to do that. So I have made a little google drawing to show people how to write a email so have a look at this to find out about how to make a quality email.
